Magic Magic

I don't know anything about this movie, but Michael Cera's sweaters are excellent and really putting me in the cold weather vibes.  Also, I'm digging the Ian McCulloch from Echo & The Bunnymen meets Jack Nance from Eraserhead haircut.

Teen Apocalypse Trilogy

I'm really inspired by Gregg Araki's Teenage Apocalypse Trilogy right now....

TOTALLY FUCKED UP
THE DOOM GENERATION
NOWHERE

Youth tribes, L.A., shoegaze, industrial, drug trips, religious parody, sexxx, love, and EVERYTHING.  It kind of bums me out that these movies just get thrown into the 'Queer Cinema' genre because it sort of shunts them to the side, when really all teenagers should be watching these.  And can we talk about how excellent these shirts are?

I don't know why I never posted this on here, but I made this a year ago to promote my blog.  I don't cringe when I watch it now, so that's good.  Here ya go, maybe enjoy.

Jerry Devine vs. Kim Fowley

GLAM ROCK PRODUCER SMACKDOWN

Eddie Izzard as Jerry Devine in "Velvet Goldmine"

Michael Shannon as Kim Fowley in "The Runaways"

Telling quote: "That man sitting over there in the white suit... is the biggest thing to come out of this country sinced sliced Beatles."

Telling quote: "The only guy who's honest is the guy who sings in the shower. Everyone else is a prostitute."

AND THE WINNER IS....
Michael Shannon as Kim Fowley! Because he stole every scene, didn't shy away from the make up, and killed this monologue:

"Rock 'n' roll is a blood sport, a sport of men. It's for the people in the dark, the death cats, the masturbators, the outcasts who have no voice, no way of saying I hate this world, my father's a faggot, fuck you, fuck authority - I want an orgasm! Now, growl! Moan! This ain't women's lib, kiddies - the is women's libido! I wanna see the scratch marks down their fucking backs! Now, do it again. Again. Like your boyfriend just fucked your sister in your parent's bed. LIKE YOU WANT A FUCKING ORGASM!"
